is this a cannon character? not a terribly main stream one and slight changes have been made to the original to fit what most admins call acceptable for an xmen role play
character name Akiko "Amiko" Kobayashi
character alias Amiko
gender female
sideX-men (student not team member)
actual age 15
age you look mid teens, 14-16
mutant power
Amiko has the gift to manipulate water on a molecular level. This means that she can move water to her liking in almost any situation. Also it allows her to take the humidity from the air around her and gather the molecules together to form droplets of water if not more. (As her powers grow I might add in that she can evaporate and freeze water, with admin permission of course)
appearance
personality
Amiko looks like she'd be a tough girl, and though most would assume she is. But her training with the old man in the temple stuck. She learned to be polite, gentle, and spiritual. She grew up in Japan so she feels shy in America, she's out of her element, though after a while she'll open up more. What's making her feel the most shy right now is the fact that she spoke Japanese all her life, though she does know English, she fears she will sound silly speaking it.
On the other hand, when you get on the bad side of Amiko, she can be very scary. She was raised by a martial artist. She won't hesitate to use her training when she feels it's needed, even if others say it's not.
history
When Akiko's mother was killed during a giant dragon's (local gang) rampage through Tokyo.
No legal plans existed to care for Akiko, and she was placed in the Japanese foster care system.Akiko (now calling herself Amiko) was living with abusive people. Furthermore, she distanced herself from her peers, not wanting to be close to anyone unless they'd get her out. Eventually she discovered that the money someone had been sending her was being stolen by her foster parents, this drove Amiko to leave and asked Yukio to take over guardianship. Durring this time Yukio had been teaching Amiko martial arts, she had been getting into more and more fights over the years.
At the age of thirteen Amiko had been showing displays of incredible power. It started with her accidentally flooding Yukio's apartment while doing chores, but Amiko hid these powers form her foster mother thinking she'd treat her differently. She trained in secret at a local temple with an old man who insisted on her calling him Grandfather because she looked like the grand-daughter that never came to see him. He taught her how to keep her powers in check. But she was still getting into fights. One night she got very upset when a man began disrespecting her and her friends. She lost control and drowned the man by filling his lungs with water by just thought. This sent a strong message to Yukio that Amiko was more different then she thought. She set Amiko down when they got home and had a serious talk about the situation, eventually deciding that it was best for Amiko to go live at the school with other mutants her own age.

Amiko's eyes narrowed as she looked over to the jerk that was bothering her best friend. "She said she wasn't interested, leave her be." She warned, in Japanese of course. Amiko then calmly went to sip on her tea looking over her friends. But this guy would not have being told what to do by a young girl.
"Let the lady speak for herself." He scolded Amiko as he wrapped his arms around the poor girl. Amiko's eyes grew angry as she watched her friend squirm trying to get free from the pushy man.
"Right." She said as she put her tea down, anyone who watched her could tell something was about to happen. She with an angry calmness walked behind the man and quickly smacked him, folding her arms before he looked to her. He didn't know what Amiko was capable of and looked mildly annoyed by this. As he turned around to push her away Amiko saw the opening she had assumed would happen by this. She grabbed his arm and spun him from her friend. In doing so she brought the arm down, hard, over her shoulder, the joint of the elbow meeting the firmest part causing a snap to come from the joint.
She had just broken his elbow. She then put all her weight, and all of his into hurling him half way across the room. But at one point during this, he had stopped fighting back. It's unsure when, but at one point during her display of physical training she had unknowingly taken the water from the air and placed it in his lungs, accidentally of course. He had drowned. When she saw this she looked to her friends with worried eyes. They each got the message and began running. She didn't stop until she got home, but by then it was too late. Yukio had already received a phone call to explain what had happened.
